| Stock
rods in Ford modular engines are manufactured from a powdered sinter-alloy
that is compacted into the rough shape of a connecting rod, which is then
"hot struck" into the final shape. These rods are adequate for
the purpose of which they were intended (picking up groceries at the local
store). We have heard of people making some impressive horsepower numbers
with these rods, but these rods do have their limitations. If you are
building a modular engine for performance, Manley rods are a must. |

Manley's Sportsmaster rods are perfect for high stress applications that
don't need the additional strength (or cost) of the Pro series rods. These
rods will stand up to the abuse of stop light runs while still being strong
enough for the track. These rods are lighter than the "H" beam
rods allowing your engine to spin up quicker. You can't go wrong with
sportsmaster rods. Good to 550 horsepower. |

Considered Manley's "budget" rod, when you look at the features
there is nothing "budget" about them. The same care that goes
into manley's top of the line pro series also goes into these "H"
beam rods. Fully capable of handling supercharged or nitrous applications.
